2022 County Cup Race

The LTA’s County Cup Race will recognise a County’s performance in all 9 of the County Cup Events (9 & Under, 10 & Under, 11 & Under, 12 & Under, 14 & Under, 18 & Under, the over 35’s, Seniors and the “Open” category. Points will be allocated after each event, starting with the 18U Event in March and will conclude with the Winter “Open” Event in November. The County with the most points across all Events will be recognised as the overall County Cup Race Champion for that year. In addition, recognition will also be made to the county making the biggest year on year improvement on their previous year’s final position.

So how are Avon Tennis doing?   With just the Winter “Open” competition to be played (25 to 27 November) Avon Tennis are in a very credible 4th place with 184 points.

As Avon is one of the smaller counties in the UK with fewer clubs and players compared with the likes of Surrey, Kent, Middlesex, Yorkshire, etc. this is a fantastic achievement. However, we strive to continually improve, and our aim is to maintain our position in the Top 10!
