SUMMARY:Junior Programme Coaching
DESCRIPTION:Junior programme coach training is a 5 hour intensive face to face workshop open to all qualified tennis coaches. \nThe programme has been created using a set of principles and competencies (player outcomes) that include tactical\, technical\, motor and psycho-social skills. The training will equip coaches to deliver a fun\, safe\, inclusive and competitive junior programme. \nOn completing the training coaches will: \n\nUnderstand the current participation landscape in tennis and the rationale behind the junior programme\nBe aware of the principles\, fundamentals and competencies and their link to the content of the junior programme\nHave knowledge of the junior programme framework and structure\nBe able to practically deliver a junior programme session with excellence\nUnderstand how to upload and advertise courses\, using promotional avenues to maximise bookings\n\nThe day will comprise three sessions in rotation and equipment will be provided. To maximise the learning time refreshments will be available between sessions. Coaches are welcome to stay on after the end of the workshop to network over a light lunch.

SUMMARY:Level 1 Coaching Assistant Training Course
DESCRIPTION:The LTA Level 1 Coach Assistant Qualification is the first step on the LTA Coaching Pathway. It is aimed at people looking to work as a coaching assistant at a club or other tennis venue\, such as a park or a school. The qualification is an assessed course and is awarded by 1st4sport. \nUpon successful completion candidates will be able to work as an assistant coach alongside a minimum of a Level 2 Accredited Coach in a beginner coaching session. \nThe course is 3 days in duration\, split over a minimum period of 4 weeks and will cover areas such as Mini Tennis\, technique\, tactics\, communication\, organisation\, demonstrations\, safeguarding\, running competitive events and organising activity sessions. Additionally\, the course requires candidates to complete a portfolio and gain a minimum of three hours experience assisting an LTA Accredited+ coach between the second and third day of the course. \nCoaches who hold a Level 1 Coach Assistant Qualification are not qualified to coach independently\, but will be able to lead parts of a coaching session on an adjacent court to a Level 2 or above coach. They can also run a tennis activity session that has been set up by the Head Coach (Level 3 or above). A tennis activity session refers to organised play or competition facilitated by a coach through organising equipment\, allocating space\, and suggesting some ideas for activities. The key distinction between a coaching session and activity session is that no formal coaching instructions (for example technical instruction) are given. \nCourse pre-requisites\n\nBe a minimum of 16 years old on the first day of the course.\nHave a signed letter of deployment from the club where coaching experience will be undertaken or request a letter of deployment from the Course Provider.\n\nCandidates must attend all the sessions of the course at the same venue and pass all elements of assessment to be successful.

DESCRIPTION:This course is essential for anyone who has contact with children and/or adults at risk in a tennis environment. \nLTA Accredited Coaches and Welfare Officers at LTA Registered venues are required to complete this course\, or a suitable alternative. \nBy the end of this course\, participants will be able to: \n\nUnderstand what safeguarding means\nIdentify how safeguarding issues can arise and what you can do to minimise the chance of them happening\nUnderstand the types of abuse and neglect in children and adults at risk and the impact this can have\nLearn best practice for responding to safeguarding concerns\nUnderstand the current landscape of safeguarding and how the LTA can support you\n\nThe duration of this course is three hours including a break and will take place in a classroom environment.  This course has been approved by the LTA for 3 CPD credits. \nThe minimum age to attend this course is 16 years old.

DESCRIPTION:This course will support you in your role as a club Welfare Officer and help to further develop your understanding of safeguarding within a tennis environment.   This course is free and you will be refunded the booking cost upon successful completion of the course. \nYou are required to have completed a face to face LTA safeguarding workshop (or one approved by the LTA) within the last three years to book onto Time to Listen. \nThis course is designed to support you and your venue in the safeguarding and protection of children. You will learn about policies and procedures\, and the different roles and responsibilities of everyone contributing towards the safeguarding of children. \nThe course involves a variety of exercises and activities in order to develop the skills necessary to implement best practice in your club. \nBy the end of the course\, you will be able to: \n\nIdentify what makes a good welfare officer\nDescribe how to make your venue safer\nIdentify how to create a child centred environment\nExplain how the welfare officer role fits into the wider safeguarding environment\nApply safeguarding procedures in your venue\n\nLearners must be at least 18 years old on the day of the course. \nThe duration of this course is three hours including a break and will take place in a classroom environment. \nCoaches and Officials can attend this course if they wish to\, however will not receive any credits.

DESCRIPTION:The LTA Coach Forums are open to all tennis coaches and are a chance for you to network together. If possible\, bring along your whole team (including LTA Level 1s and 2s) to get involved. \nThe day will consist of an on-court session exploring the revamped LTA Junior Programme\, which is currently being developed with input from British coaches\, building on the success of Tennis For Kids. The programme is being designed to further support the junior tennis journey and to help you develop your own programmes. It will include an exclusive preview of the Blue (Pre-Red) and Red content that is currently being co-developed with\, motor-skills development specialist\, Kenneth Bastiaens. \nThere will also be an off-court element to the day where you will get the chance to gain updates on developments in tennis for Britain and the support available to coaches from the LTA nationally\, regionally and at a local level. The day will finish with a team debrief and an opportunity to network further over a free lunch. \nBy the end of the forum you will have had an insight into LTA strategic priorities\, upcoming programmes and further details about coach support available to you.
