Wow! What a strong weekend of play for the 14U. Both girls and boys teams were splendid, literally aceing their way through the weekend and in to the Finals in Nottingham in a fortnight.

U14 Girls County Cup Report
Regional Champions! Our U14 girls did brilliantly this weekend down in Torquay winning their County Cup qualifying event to reach the National Finals in Nottingham.
Finishing with 6-0 wins against Somerset, Devon and Wiltshire, our six-strong team of Izzie Britton, Sophia Kovacheva, Jess Gunter, Alice Zelley, Daisy Gunter and Savannah Marsh were undefeated all weekend – and without even dropping a set too!
Their tennis was clinical and smart, and each player demonstrated an impressive and mature understanding of the need to just keep getting quality balls in on the uncomfortable artificial clay.
Captains Lizzie Flint and Martyn Bray had a great weekend guiding and supporting the girls through the event, with lots of fun enjoyed by the whole team off the court too taking some time out to explore the local area and indulge in a bit of ice cream!
All in all, a weekend that the girls should be very happy with – they did themselves and the county extremely proud with their exceptional performances and behaviour, both on court and off the court. The National Finals are in less than two weeks and we can’t wait!
