A really good days tennis was had by all at the 9U County Cup event, held inside at Bath University. The team competed well, just missing out on winning the whole event after losing to South Wales and Wiltshire very narrowly 5-4, but having strong wins over Hampshire 6-3 and Gloucester 8-1.
The simple things to take away from the weekend are everyone represented the county proudly and were a credit to Avon and themselves/parents. Tom Bewley was unbeaten in 4 singles matches at number 1 position, a great effort and due to the large number of players we used, there were many different doubles pairings throughout the day, giving a good variety of challenges for all, which really proved the strength of all of the kids to bond well and learn from each other, in these relatively short tie break matches.
Well done team. Matt and I are proud of you.
