Avon Tennis: Accountant – Volunteer Role Description
Overview of the role
The Accountant is responsible for the maintenance of Avon Tennis (AT) financial books and records, production of periodic financial reports and budgets and is a member of the Avon Tennis Finance & Audit Committee (FAC).
The Accountant reports to the AT Treasurer and is supported by the AT Administrator who deals with much of the day-to-day accounting record entries.
Responsibilities will include:
- Production of an annual budget and monitoring spend/income
- Being a named signatory on AT bank account – alongside the Chairperson, Treasurer and Secretary
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Regular liaison with the AT administration team
- Providing a financial update at each FAC meeting
- Preparing quarterly, mid and end-of-year accounts
- Liaison with the auditors at year end
Skills and experiences needed for the role
- Good accountancy knowledge with a financial accounting background
- Working knowledge and use of Xero and PayPal
Commitments
- Time commitment will vary dependent upon how tasks are divided but on average it will be around 4 hours per month
- Providing financial reports and attendance at FAC meetings (four per annum)
