Play Your Way to Wimbledon is a great event that Clubs can run to give juniors 14U the chance to play in a fun competition. Players must have an LTA Advantage membership number, and an ITF World Tennis Number between 20.0 and 40.9 at the time of the event they’re competing. Once player play at the Club competition, they then play at the County Finals, which took place at Kings TC.
The Boys event happened on Saturday and the Girls on Sunday. It was a very warm day, but the hottest days were still ahead of us. With plenty of water and sunscreen, all was well and the sunny weather was welcome.
Boys had a great day of play with 14 competing. The girls event saw a few good players drop out unfortunately, but they had great reasons for doing so.
Both finals were competitive and probably the best matches of the weekend, closely followed by the boys consolation final, where Liam beat Alfie.
The Winners who are through to the National Finals at Wimbledon are:
Boys: Ashley, Writhlington TC with RU: Daniel, Sodbury TC
Girls: Lucrejica, with RU: Savannah both from Almondsbury & Bradley Stoke TC
