Helen Abbott

Disability Network Coordinator for Bristol

Works 7 hours a week for the LTA as part of the Disability Tennis Team. Helen is passionate about 'Tennis Any Body ' no matter what the age, ability or situation there is always something that tennis and tennis related activities can offer to improve people's quality of life. We are working towards all clubs in Avon becoming inclusive and offering playing and/or volunteering opportunities within their programme. We are always looking for volunteers to help with delivery.

Ollie Bendall

County Performance Officer

Ollie is a LTA Accredited+ level 4 Performance Tennis coach who has been coaching players of all ages and abilities for over 20 years. He is the Performance Coordinator for Avon Tennis which involves the planning, organising and coordinating of the various junior age group performance and development coaching squads. Ollie currently coaches at David Lloyd Westbury, Chepstow Tennis Club and also the University of Bristol.

Claire Callaghan

County Safeguarding Officer

Claire became Avon Tennis' second County Safeguarding Officer in December 2019 and works closely with Ian Alexander. Claire is well known to many in the Bristol area, especially in and around Coombe Dingle, as she is a professionally qualified physiotherapist. Aussie born she's been a Chartered Physiotherapist for over 20 years, working in the NHS, University of Bristol, private and several corporate sectors.

Administration and Social Media

Plum joined Avon Tennis in 2018 to support the county team. Her focus is on County Tournaments, Communications, LTA, Club and County Events, British Tennis Awards and Road to Wimbledon. Plum is building up our communication platforms in order to reach across the county to clubs, players, coaches and colleagues young and old, and to ensure all abilities are included. As a social media coach, Plum uses various platforms. Her children play tennis at Henleaze and she will continue to brush up her tennis skills with her rusty racket.

Lisa Ford

Accountant

Lisa joined Avon Tennis in July 2022. She is a qualified Chartered Management Accountant. Lisa currently plays tennis for South Gloucestershire Tennis Club and is also their Club secretary.

Mandy Stonier

"She Rallies" Ambassador and Tennis Development Group Chair

Tennis Development Group Co Chair Previously Head of Tennis at Writhlington Tennis Centre for 11 years, Mandy was the Avon She-Rallies Ambassador 2017-2021. She continues promoting and developing women and girls in tennis across Avon. An LTA Accredited+ Coach, Mandy is club secretary of Somer Valley Tennis and a key member of Avon Tennis' Tennis Development Group. Mandy champions the role of the volunteer in clubs and setting ensuring they are recognised and supported.
